Abstract

ENGLISH : Humans as social creatures need language to communicate and interact with each other. Good communication will occur if the speaker and speech partner work together. It must also be based on obeying the rules of the conversation. Pragmatics is one of the fields of linguistics that specializes in examining the relationship between language and the context of speech. In pragmatics, there are principles of how a human can speak in a certain situation. One of them is the politeness principle by Leech and the cooperative principle by Grice. However, when someone speaks, sometimes they do not obey the principle of cooperation by using implicit meanings for certain purposes. For example, refine the proposition that is uttered and saving face. The focus of the data from this research is the utterances of the main character in the Spider-Man: Homecoming movie, namely Peter or Spider-Man. From the title of this undergraduate thesis, it would be known that the object of this research is the Spider-Man: Homecoming movie. This research has two problem formulations, including: (1) What maxims of the politeness principle are used by the main characters in Spider-man: Homecoming movie? (2) What maxims of the cooperative principle are violated by the main characters when uttering polite in Spider-man: Homecoming movie?. To find answers to these two questions, this study used a qualitative descriptive approach. The data used are sentences or utterances in the Spider-Man: Homecoming movie that contains adherence to the maxim of the politeness principle and violations of the cooperative principle. The data analysis technique used in this research used the analysis techniques proposed by Mile and Huberman, including the data collection phase, the data reduction phase, the data presentation phase, and the conclusion. The results of the data analysis, the researcher concluded that in Spider-Man: Homecoming movie 35 data comply with the politeness principle. The types of maxims used in the Leech's politeness principles used in the Spider-Man: Homecoming movies are agreement maxim, approbation maxim, modesty maxim, generosity maxim, and tact maxim. The maxim of the politeness principle that is widely used in this research is the agreement maxim. Furthermore, the researcher found violations of the cooperative principle in the film as many as (20) data. The types of violations of the maxim of Grice's cooperation principles used in Spider-Man: Homecoming movies are a violation of maxim of quantity, violation of maxim of quality, violation of maxim of relevance, and violation of maxim of manner. The violation of the maxim of quantity is the most maxim violated by the main character in Spider-Man: Homecoming movie. INDONESIA : Manusia sebagai makhluk sosial pasti memerlukan bahasa untuk berkomunikasi dan berinteraksi satu sama lain. Komunikasi yang baik akan terjadi jika penutur dan mitra tutur saling bekerjasama. Hal itu juga harus didasari dengan menaati peraturan percakapan. Pragmatik adalah salah satu bidang ilmu linguistik yang mengkhususkan pengkajiannya pada hubungan antara bahasa dan konteks tuturan. Dalam pragmatik terdapat prinsip-prinsip bagaimana seorang manusia bertutur dalam situasi tertentu. Salah satu diantaranya yaitu politeness principle oleh Leech and cooperative principle oleh Grice. Akan tetapi, saat seseorang bertutur terkadang tidak mentaati prinsip kerjasama dengan menggunakan makna implisit untuk tujuan tertentu. Misalnya memperhalus proposisi yang diujarkan dan menyelamatkan muka (saving face). Fokus data dari penelitian ini adalah ujaran dari tokoh utama dalam film Spider-Man: Homecoming yaitu Peter atau Spider-Man. Dari judul skripsi ini diketahui bahwa objek dari penelitian ini adalah film Spider-Man: Homecoming. Penelitian ini mempunyai dua rumusan masalah, yaitu: (1) Jenis prinsip kesantunan apa saja yang digunakan oleh pemeran utama dalam film Spider-man: Homecoming? dan (2) Apa saja kaidah-kaidah prinsip kerjasama yang dilanggar oleh tokoh utama ketika bertutur santun dalam film Spider-man: Homecoming? Untuk mencari jawaban kedua pertanyaan tersebut, penelitian ini mengguakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Adapun data yang digunakan adalah kalimat atau ujaran yang ada pada film Spider-Man:Homecoming yang mengandung pematuhan terhadap prinsip sopan santun dan pelanggaran terhadap prinsip kerjasama. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis yang dikemukakan oleh Mile dan Huberman diantaranya : tahap pengumpulan data, tahap reduksi data, tahap penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil dari analisis data, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa dalam Spider-Man:Homecoming movie ada 35 data yang mematuhi prinsip kesantunan. Jenis maksim dalam prinsip kesantunan Leech yang digunakan dalam film Spider-Man:Homecoming adalah agreement maxim, approbation maxim, modesty maxim, generosity maxim, and tact maxim. Adapun jenis maxim dari prinsip kesantunan yang banyak digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah maksim permufakatan. Selanjutnya, peneliti menemukan pelanggaran prinsip kerjasama dalam film tersebut sebanyak (20) data. Jenis pelanggaran maksim prinsip kerjasama Grice yang digunakan dalam film ini yaitu pelanggaran maksim kuantitas, pelanggaran maksim kualitas, pelanggaran maksim relevansi dan pelanggaran terhadap maksim pelaksanaan. Adapun pelanggaran terhadap maksim kuantitas adalah maksim terbanyak yang dilanggar oleh karakter utama dalam film Spider-Man:Homecoming.
