Abstract
This research analyzes the meaning of regretful symbols in song lyrics by Skillet Band on the album Awake. Symbol of regret is a symbol obtained from the form of emotions such as an feeling of guilt, solitude, and depression. And the symbol of regret can be interpreted as a symbol of regretful, this symbol, has been analyzed by researchers because the symbol of regretful displays various forms of expression from humans. This study uses the symbolic theory of Charles Sanders Pierce in literature. Descriptive method is a method used by researchers to explain the results of research. The symbol of regret obtained by researchers comes from the form of regretful. The data collected in this study was obtained from song lyrics in the Skillet band Awake album which showed regretful as a message that could be analyzed from song lyrics which originally from the analysis of regretful.
