Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pemahaman wartawan peliput kericuhan demo RUU KUHP, kemudian wartawan dalam memaknai peliputan tersebut beserta pengalamannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode fenomenologi dari Alfred Schutz dan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa wartawan peliput kericuhan aksi demo RUU KUHP di Bandung menjadi pusat perhatian masyarakat. Sebagian wartawan menilai kejadian hal tersebut adanya oknum yang tidak bertanggung jawab dan juga adanya provokator yang memanfaatkan keadaan. Peliputan ini banyak risiko yang dihadapkan kepada wartawan. Banyak hambatan yang dialami oleh wartawan. Wartawan masih banyak yang terintimidasi dalam bertugas seperti ancaman, dan kata-kata kasar. Kericuhan ini menjadi senjata untuk wartawan, dan harus tahu etika dalam peliputan seperti mengetahui aturan peliputan aksi demo, dan mendeskripsikan tulisan sesuai kaidah juralistik. The purpose of this study is to determine the understanding of journalists who cover the riots of the Criminal Code Bill, then journalists interpret the coverage and their experiences. This study uses the phenomenological method of Alfred Schutz and a qualitative approach. The results showed that journalists covering the riots of the Criminal Code demonstration in Bandung became the center of public attention. Some journalists considered the incident to be irresponsible and also provocateurs who took advantage of the situation. This coverage poses many risks to journalists. Journalists face many obstacles. Journalists also admit that many of them are still intimidated by their duties such as threats and harsh words. This chaos becomes a weapon for journalist.
