Abstract

ENGLISH : This study focuses on comparative literary research that compares literary formulas, namely the action adventure genre and characterization between two film objects, namely the Film Kingdom of Heaven (2005) and Arn The Knight Templar (2007) which uses the formula theory from Cawlty. The most striking thing is that these two objects have the same time and place background so that they have sides of the equation that can be studied and compared. Namely, these two film objects are set in the city of Jarusalem in the 12th century where at that time Jarusalem was fighting in a war called the crusade. Therefore, the researcher proposes two problem formulations, namely 1) What are the differences and similarities between the action and adventure genre formulas in the films Kingdom Of Heaven (2005) and Arn The Knight Templar (2007)? Then 2) what are the comparisons and how are the differences and similarities in the characters and characterizations in the films Kingdom Of Heaven (2005) and Arn The Knight Templar (2007)? The research methodology used in this study to assist researcher in conducting research. It consists of research methods that use comparative methods, data sources, data samples, data techniques, and finally the data analysis step. The two objects of this research are a genre formula that can be compared, namely in the Action and Adventure genre where there are many search scenes in a mission, war and violence. This film has the same core story where the main character is a templar knight who begins his adventure because of a sin and then serves to become a knight and helps defend the holy land of Jerusalem from attacks by Muslim soldiers. Where in history it is told that the holy land of Jarusalem is a land that is covered by the two largest religious beliefs in the world, namely Islam & Christian. The result of this study indicate that the two objects of this study have very familiar similarities because this film has the same genre and setting of events, so no wonder it has the same characteristics. Starting from the story line, characters, character characteristics and various events such as adventures, wars and scenes of violence. And the difference lies in the core focus of the story so that it has different characters where the film Kingdom Of Heaven (2005) is a film of historical scenes while the film Arn The Knight Templar (2007) is a fictional film that takes a historical background that has ever existed. INDONESIA : Penelitian ini berfokus pada penelitian sastra bandingan yang membandingkan formula sastra yaitu genre action adventure dan characterization antara dua objek film yaitu Film Kingdom Of Heaven (2005) dan Arn The Knight Templar (2007) yang menggunakan teori formula dari Cawlty. Hal yang paling menonjol ialah kedua objek ini memiliki latar tempat dan waktu yang sama sehingga memiliki sisi persamaan yang bisa diteliti dan dibandingkan. Yaitu kedua objek film ini berlatar di kota Jarusalem pada abad ke 12 dimana pada waktu itu Jarusalem sedang bertempur dalam sebuah perang yang dinamakan perang salib. Oleh karena itu peneliti mengusulkan dua rumusan masalah yaitu 1) Apa saja perbedaan dan persamaan formula genre action dan adventure pada film Kingdom Of Heaven (2005) dan Arn The Knight Templar (2007)? Kemudian 2) apa saja perbandingan dan bagaimana perbedaan serta persamaan dalam karakter serta karakterisasi yang ada pada film Kingdom Of Heaven (2005) dan Arn The Knight Templar (2007)? Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk membantu peneliti dalam melakukan penelitian. Ini terdiri dari metode penelitian yang menggunakan metode komparatif, sumber data, sampel data, teknik data, dan terakhir tahap analisis data. Kedua objek penelitian ini memiliki suatu formula genre yang sama yang bisa dikomparasikan yaitu kesamaan dalam aliran genre Action dan Adventure dimana banyak sekali adegan pencarian dalam suatu misi, peperangan dan kekerasan. Film ini memiliki suatu inti cerita yang sama diaman sang karakter utama merupakan seorang kesatria templar yang memulai petualangannya karena sebuah penembusan dosa kemudian mengabdii untuk menjadi kesatria dan ikut mempertahankan tanah suci Jarusalem dari serangan templar Muslim. Dimana dalam sejarah diceritakan tanah suci Jarusalem adalah tanah yang diperbutkan oleh dua kepercayaan agama terbesar didunia yaitu Islam & Nasrani. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kedua objek penelitian ini memiliki persamaan yang sangat familiar dikarenakan film ini memiliki genre serta latar kejadian yang sama maka tak heran memiliki ciri-ciri yang sama. Mulai dari alur cerita, tokoh, karakteristik tokoh serta berbagai kejadian seperti petualangan, peperangan dan juga adegan-adegan kekerasan. Dan perbedaannya terletak pada inti focus ceritasehingga memiliki tokoh-tokoh berbeda dimana film Kingdom Of Heaven (2005) merupakan film reka adegan sejarah sedangkan film Arn The Knight Templar (2007) merupakan film fiksi yang mengambil sebuah latar sejarah yang pernah ada.
