Abstract

ENGLISH: The novels describe women live with all problems and suffer. It also describes the phenomena of authority, gender issues, social conflict, love, and discrimination in this society. From the study, there are two statements of the problem; how modern feminism is reflected in The Awakening novel? and How do women fight for their rights from men's authority in The Awakening novel? Both questions became a core discussion on research made by researchers because the background of modern feminism and man authority both have relationships with each other so as to provide a lot of discussion in research studies. The theory used is the theory of is postmodern feminism is focused on the unbalanced right between women and men in authority. Postmodern feminism has a purpose to make women become better than before. In this critique, describe women can do what men can do, modern feminism focused on the fight against authority (Wollstonecraft, 2010: 20-12). The researcher uses a descriptive method to describe the methodology to solve and reply to the problem in this research systematically, accurately, and also based on the fact. Therefore, in analyzing research researcher tries to describe the whole data which the research found on the literary text. The conclusion of from discussion is; how modern feminists have an impact on women to fight for their rights and to fight the form of male authority. INDONESIA: Novel tersebut menggambarkan perempuan hidup dengan segala masalah dan menderita. Ini juga menggambarkan fenomena otoritas, isu gender, konflik sosial, dan cinta juga diskriminasi yang dalam novel tersebut. Dari penelitian tersebut, ada dua pernyataan masalah, bagaimana feminisme modern tercermin dalam novel The Awakening? Dan Bagaimana perempuan memperjuangkan hak-hak mereka dari otoritas pria dalam novel The Awakening? Kedua pertanyaan tersebut menjadi pembahasan inti penelitian yang dilakukan oleh para peneliti, karena latar belakang feminisme modern dan otoritas manusia sama-sama memiliki hubungan satu sama lain sehingga dapat memberikan banyak diskusi dalam studi penelitian. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori feminisme postmodern difokuskan pada hak yang tidak seimbang antara perempuan dan laki-laki yang berwenang. Feminisme postmodern memiliki tujuan untuk membuat wanita menjadi lebih baik dari sebelumnya. Dalam kritik ini menggambarkan tentang wanita dapat melakukan apa yang dapat dilakukan manusia, feminisme modern yang berfokus pada perang melawan otoritas (Wollstonecraft, 2010: 20-12). Peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif untuk menggambarkan metodologi untuk menyelesaikan dan membalas masalah dalam penelitian ini secara sistematis, akurat, dan juga berdasarkan fakta. Kesimpulan dari diskusi ini adalah untuk fokus pada bagaimana feminis modern memiliki dampak pada perempuan untuk memperjuangkan hak-hak mereka dan untuk melawan bentuk otoritas laki-laki.
