Abstract

E-book is a book that can be opened electronically, via a computer, laptop or smartphone, and consists of text, images or sound and published in digital form that can be read by smartphones, computers etc. Digital book can be one solution as an alternative learning media to foster interest in reading, especially in the world of education.( Ruddamayanti :2019). This study is aimed: (1) To find how is e-book applied in School Literacy Movement (2) To reveal the students’ responses on using e-book in promote School Literacy Movement (3) To know the barrier are encountered by students’ when using e-book. This research used a case study qualitative approach by elaborating the process of the implementation e-book to promote School Literacy Movemen . The subjects of this research were 31 students of class X of MA YPI CIKUJANG. The data were qualitative. The qualitative data were obtained through observation , document analysis ,questionnaire interview to the students data based on the theory of Marzano (2013). The result of this research shows that the use of e-book implementing in School Literacy Movement reveals successful indicators. Students follow the program consistenly, students read any kinds of e-book not only academic book but also non academic E-book; and make review. Moreover, Regarding to the score calculation of students’ responses find 21 Participants (58.6%) agree take E-book as a learning media. Most students interested in E-book. Finally, the students’ responses were the domination of positive responses, students said could build their reading habit. In conclusion, the use of e-book by the teacher as a learning media bring some beneficial results such as the research showed that the implementation of school literacy movement in the teaching and learning process of reading was believed to more atractive to enhance the students’ reading comprehension . In addition, the implementation of school literacy movement using e-book by the teacher is viewed positively by the students since it has beneficial impact for their learning progress.
