Abstract
Indonesia memiliki kekayaan jenis mamalia yang tinggi yaitu sebanyak 701 jenis yang terbagi dalam 16 Ordo. Diantara 16 Ordo itu, Ordo Rodentia dan Chiroptera merupakan Ordo dengan keragaman tertinggi. Laboratorium Biosistematika Mamalia LIPI merupakan salah satu laboratorium yang meneliti tentang identifikasi mamalia, khususnya mamalia kecil. Hingga saat ini, Labotarium Biosistematika Mamalia LIPI diketahui menyimpan banyak sampel mamalia yang belum diidentifikasi dan hanya disimpan sebagai awetan basah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui status taksonomi spesimen Rodentia dan Chiroptera terpilih yang terdapat di Laboratorium Biosistematika Mamalia LIPI berdasarkan data morfometri dan morfologi. Status taksonomi ini didapat dari identifikasi pada empat spesimen Rodentia dan lima spesimen Chiroptera. Identifikasi spesimen Ordo Rodentia dan Chiroptera dapat dilihat dari pengukuran morfometri tubuh dan pengamatan morfologi tubuh. Data morfometri diperoleh dengan mengukur bagian tubuh yang terdiri dari badan dan kepala, berat spesimen, ekor, telinga, kaki belakang, lengan bawah sayap kelelawar, dan tulang kering pada kelelawar. Sedangkan data morfologi dengan melakukan pengamatan bagian tubuh yang terdiri dari warna rambut, gigi seri, hidung, ekor, warna sayap, telinga, mata, dan jari sayap. Identifikasi spesimen ini dilakukan hingga tingkat spesies dengan bantuan buku identifikasi dan spesimen acuan yang berada di koleksi ilmiah Laboratorium Biosistematika Mamalia LIPI. Hasil yang didapatkan yaitu empat individu Rodentia diketahui dengan spesies Bunomys penitus, Rattus xanthurus, dan Callosciurus nigrovittatus. Sedangkan, lima individu Chiroptera diketahui dengan spesies Dobsonia viridis, Nyctimene cephalotes, Chironax melanocephalus, dan Scotophilus kuhlii. ABSTRACT Indonesia has a high diversity of mammal species, as many as 701 species, which are divided into 16 orders. Among the 16 orders, the Rodentia and Chiroptera Orders were the ones with the highest diversity. The Laboratory Biosystematics Mammalia LIPI is one of the laboratories that researches the identification of mammals, especially small mammals. Until now, the Laboratory Biosystematics Mammalia LIPI is known to store many mammal samples that have not been identified and are only stored as wet preserves. The purpose of this study was to determine the taxonomic status of selected Rodentia and Chiroptera specimens found in the Laboratory Biosystematics Mammalia LIPI based on morphometric and morphological data. This taxonomic status was obtained from identification on four specimens of Rodentia and five specimens of Chiroptera. Identification of specimens of the Order of Rodentia and Chiroptera can be seen from body morphometric measurements and body morphological observations. Morphometric data were obtained by measuring body parts consisting of the body and head, specimen weight, tail, ears, hind legs, forearms of bat wings, and tibia of bats. Meanwhile, morphological data by observing body parts consisting of hair color, incisors, nose, tail, wing color, ears, eyes and wing fingers. The identification of specimens is carried out to the species level with the help of identification books and reference specimens in the scientific collection of the Laboratory Biosystematics Mammalia LIPI. The results obtained were four Rodentia individuals known as Bunomys penitus, Rattus xanthurus, and Callosciurus nigrovittatus. Meanwhile, five Chiroptera individuals were identified as Dobsonia viridis, Nyctimene cephalotes, Chironax melanocephalus, and Scotophilus kuhlii.
