Abstract

Dalam pembelajaran kimia organik, sabun merupakan contoh produk dari reaksi saponifikasi pada materi lipid. Konsep saponifikasi termasuk kedalam konsep abstrak dengan contoh konkrit. Sehingga untuk merepresentasikan reaksi saponifikasi yang terjadi dalam pembuatan sabun, diperlukan suatu lembar kerja praktik yang sesuai. Paper soap merupakan inovasi dalam pembuatan sabun yang berbentuk lembaran tipis seperti kertas akibat dari penambahan komponen plasticizer seperti gliserin. Penambahan bahan alami seperti virgin coconut oil (VCO), Kefir whey, serta minyak atsiri dalam pembuatan sabun bertujuan untuk meningkatakan kualitas dari sabun yang dihasilkan dan menjadikannya sebagai produk herbal. Tujuan penelitian ini, yakni untuk mendeskripsikan lembar kerja berbasis proyek, menentukan kelayakan lembar kerja berbasis proyek, dan menentukan karakteristik paper soap terbaik berdasarkan kompisisi kefir whey yang digunakan (8%, 18%, 23%). Metode yang digunakan dalam penyusunan lembar kerja ini adalah research and development (R&D). Berdasarkan hasil validasi lembar kerja oleh dosen ahli diperoleh nilai rhitung sebesar 0,84 yang termasuk dalam kategori valid. Lembar kerja yang dihasilkan sesuai dengan tahapan pembelajaran berbasis proyek serta layak diterapkan pada mata kuliah kimia organik 2 dengan nilai rhitung ¬sebesar 0,84. Paper soap yang memiliki karakteristik terbaik adalah paper soap dengan komposisi kefir sebesar 8% (F1) dengan pH 8, angka tak tersabunkan 0,39% dan stabilitas busa 83% yang sesuai dengan SNI no. 3532-2016. In organic chemistry, soap is a product of saponification reaction in lipid material. Saponification is the abstract concept with concrete examples. Worksheet is needed to represent the reaction of saponification that occurs in soap making. Paper soap is an innovation in making soap in the form of thin sheets like paper due to the addition of plasticizer components such as glycerin. The addition of natural ingredients such as virgin coconut oil (VCO), kefir whey, and essential oils in soap making aims to improve the quality of the soap produced and make it an herbal product. The purpose of this research is to describe the appearance of the project-based learning worksheet, to describe the process and results of the validation of the worksheet and to analyze the results of the optimization paper soap based on the kefir whey composition used (8, 18, 23). The method used in the preparation of this worksheet is research and development (R&D). Based on the validation results, the rcount value of 0.84 is obtained which is included in the valid category. The resulting worksheet is in accordance with the stages of project-based learning and is suitable for application to organic chemistry 2 course with a rcount of 0.84. Paper soap which has the best characteristics is paper soap with a composition of 8% kefir (F1) with a pH of 8, an unsaponified number of 0.39% and foam stability of 83% that according with SNI no 3532-2016.
