Abstract
This study discusses the actions of parents in instilling religious moral values in children. This analysis is located in Babakan Cimahi, Cilengkrang District, Bandung Regency. Due to the increasingly advanced development of the era and the low understanding of children about religious morals and the limitations of low parental education, children tend to put aside moral knowledge and are more interested in western culture. The formulation of the problem and the purpose of this study were to find out how parenting and parental efforts in instilling religious moral values in children, inhibiting and encouraging factors for parents in instilling religious moral values in children, the impact of changes in children on the cultivation of moral values. The theory used is the theory of Social Action from Max Weber. Where the first is the action taken by the parents. Because parents are the first example that children will see. If the parent applies or teaches moral values to children well, the child himself will have a foundation in himself, namely good morals. In this study using qualitative methods. That is the collection of research data by observation, interviews, data collection and data analysis in order to determine the objective conditions in the field. Sources of data obtained from primary data, namely the parents in Babakan Cimahi. Then secondary data obtained through local children. The results of the study show that there are still many children who do not fully have good morals, one of the consequences is that children are less concerned about religious understanding and prefer playing time. The inhibiting factor is due to the low education of parents so that teaching and educating their children is done with minimal knowledge. The supporting factors are the existence of Islamic boarding schools in the local environment and the hereditary culture of children to be included in Islamic boarding schools. Efforts made by parents are to provide direction and motivation to children so that children know the importance of having an understanding of moral values. The conclusion of this study is that although the parents' low level of education does not dampen the enthusiasm of parents to educate their children to have good morals and is supported by the presence of Islamic boarding schools in the local environment.
