Abstract

Online learning has been on the rise in recent years. The literature data are increasing rapidly point out the use of Zoom videoconference tools to maximize the persistence of online learning as the impact of Covid-19 disease. First and foremost, little is known how factors of students' attitude during learning activities on Zoom attest students' participation issues. This study investigates the factors affecting students' attitudes in Zoom learning activities. In particular, it portrays the factors affecting the establishment students and the factors affecting the reduction students during Zoom teaching-learning activity. The investigation elaborates three distinct data sources of speaking class respondents ends with the conclusion. This study adapted a qualitative method to investigate factors affecting the establishment and the reduction of students' attitudes in Zoom classes. The data were collected in three major instruments; they are observation, questionnaire, and interview. The observation explored students' participation and factors affecting their attitudes. The questionnaire was used to dig out the factors affecting students' attitudes and to conduct participant selection for the research. The interviews carried out further about the factors affecting both of the establishment and the reduction of students' attitudes. The results showed that various factors of students' attitude affected the students’ establishment . Students experienced strength motivation and support from environment; parents, family, idols, and friends. Also, students found the tutor match with their needs and fulfil their expectations. Again, they felt dealing with their classmates even they were motivated by each other. Moreover, students agreed with the used of Zoom as a learning platform. Whereas the reductions students shows the vice-versa, they were affected by the following factors: they had lack of motivation to join the class due to the tutor changing and they had no supporting system from parents, friends, and idols. Moreover, online class was not only boring them but also it was vulnerable due to network problems, students were anxious and insecure to practice since the class was mixed with other higher level speaking skill. In brief, this study suggested that teachers need to consider students' participation in Online learning, particularly using Zoom learning.
