Abstract

This study intends to investigate students' experiences in using WhatsApp as an online learning medium. specifically, this study aims to obtain and objectives: 1). To describe students’ experience when learning TEYL online using WhatsApp during The Covid-19 pandemic as an application, 2). To identify any challenges students’ face when learning TEYL using WhatsApp during The Covid-19 pandemic as an applied learning media. This study used a qualitative method, and used case study method. The data were collected with three main instruments: a document analysis, questionnaire, and interview questions. The analysis documents in this study were taken with screenshots or photos during online EYL learning due to being facing a pandemic. Collecting questionnaire data was carried out by distributing questionnaires via Google Forms. And Collecting interview protocol, data was taken using voice recordings. The result of the study showed that the WhatsApp as a learning medium. Besides being a medium for communication, WhatsApp can also be a medium of learning. Especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, everything switched from offline to online learning. And WhatsApp is one of the most used media when online learning. concerns students' experiences using WhatsApp as a learning medium. When WhatsApp is used as a learning medium, many feel they have no difficulty using it. This is because before, they also used WhatsApp to communicate. Some feel immensely helped by using WhatsApp as a learning medium because the features on WhatsApp are weak to support online learning The findings from researchers are expected so that students can adapt to online learning media and use them properly. This research will also likely improve students' experience using WhatsApp media so that it can run well again in the future.
