Abstract

This research is aimed (1) To describe the students' intensity in interacting with the English language used in JavaScript program.(2) To describe the students' mastery of computer vocabulary. (3)To find out correlation between the students' intensity in interacting with English in JavaScript and their vocabulary mastery. The hypotheses is Hypothesis alternative (Ha): there is high correlation between the students‟ intensity in interacting with English language used in JavaScript™ and their computer vocabulary mastery. The design of this research was a correlation quantitative method. The population was limited to students in the eleventh grade of SMKN 4 Bandung. The techniques of collecting data questionnaire and a test. The result of the research shows that the students' intensity in interacting with English in Javascript falls into two categories. 77% with 27 of students get into the moderate category and 23% with 8 of students get into the high category. The average score is 56,9, median 56,6, mode 55,8, highest score (max) 79,1 , and lowest score (min) 42. The correlation between students‟ intensity in interacting with English language used in JavaScript and their computer vocabulary mastery show a correlation coefficient range of 0.65 – 0.80, which is categorized as high correlation. Furthermore, to test the correlation, the rcount is compared with the rtable with a degree of significance of = 5% (0.344) =1% (0.4301), where N is 35. Rcount < rtable was accepted. Therefore, there is high significant relationship between the students’ intensity in interacting with English language used in JavaScript and their computer vocabulary mastery.
