Abstract

Abstract The research started from the researcher's interest in the case of a female volunteer with single parent status. In general, a person who has a single parent status wants every activity to get results, and choose a job that is more income in order to meet the needs of his family. However, in this case the subject prefers as a volunteer and is able to find the meaningfulness of his life amid the problems he experienced. It is not easy for a single parent to earn a living alone, while a volunteer is not paid or given a salary, but the subject seeks to find meaning in every event, it is interesting to investigate. The purpose of this research is to know how the process of meaningful life of a volunteer. The meaningfulness of life is something that a person perceives as important, valuable and believed to be true and gives a special value to a person, so worthy of being a goal in his life. Meaningfulness of life shows that in it also contained the purpose of life that is the things that need to be achieved and fulfilled. The method used in this research is qualitative method with case study design. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observations and questionnaires, with the subject of one person. For the validity of the data is also carried data retrieval to one person as a significant other. The results of this study indicate that the meaningfulness of life in the can of volunteer activities seen from the goal want to happy both parents. In addition to wanting to benefit others, while not being able to give materially subject try to give his or her power to help others. Abstrak Penelitian berawal dari ketertarikan peneliti mengenai kasus yang terjadi pada seorang relawan perempuan yang berstatus single parent. Pada umumnya seseorang yang mempunyai status single parent menginginkan setiap kegiatannya mendapatkan hasil, dan memilih pekerjaan yang penghasilannya lebih besar guna untuk memenuhi kebutuhan keluarganya. Namun, dalam hal ini subjek lebih memilih sebagai relawan dan mampu menemukan kebermaknaan hidup nya di tengah permasalahan yang dialaminya. Hal tersebut tidak mudah bagi seorang single parent yang harus mencari nafkah seorang diri, sedangkan seorang relawan tidak dibayar atau diberi gaji, namun subjek berusaha untuk mencari makna disetiap peristiwa, hal ini yang menarik untuk diteliti. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana proses kebermaknaan hidup seorang relawan. Kebermaknaan hidup adalah sesuatu yang oleh seseorang dirasakan penting, berharga dan diyakini sebagai sesuatu yang benar serta memberikan nilai khusus bagi seseorang, sehingga layak menjadi tujuan dalam hidupnya. Kebermaknaan hidup menunjukan bahwa didalamnya juga terkandung tujuan hidup yakni hal-hal yang perlu dicapai dan dipenuhi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan rancangan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi dan kuesioner, dengan subjek satu orang. Untuk keabsahan data dilakukan pula pengambilan data kepada satu orang sebagai significant other. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kebermaknaan hidup di dapat dari kegiatan relawan yang dilihat dari tujuannya ingin membahagiakan kedua orangtuanya. Selain itu ingin bermanfaat untuk orang lain, selagi belum bisa memberikan secara materi subjek berusaha memberikan tenaga nya untuk membantu oranglain.
