Abstract
Tanaman mentimun (Cucumis sativus L.) merupakan komoditas hortikultura dengan nilai ekonomis dan gizi yang cukup tinggi. Produksi buah pada tanaman mentimun kerap kali mengalami fluktuatif, hal tersebut tidak seimbang dengan permintaan buah yang semakin meningkat seiring dengan pertambahan jumlah penduduk setiap tahunnya. Permasalahan tersebut berhubungan dengan adanya kendala dalam kegiatan budidaya tanaman mentimun, diantaranya penggunaan media tanam dan hara yang belum mampu memenuhi kebutuhan tanaman sehingga produksi buahnya belum optimal. Penurunan kualitas lahan pertanian khususnya pada bagian top soil tanah mampu mempengaruhi sifat fisik dan kimia tanah. Menurunnya kualitas tanah dalam kegiatan budidaya memerlukan perbaikan dalam aspek budidaya yaitu dengan penambahan bahan organik seperti penggunaan pupuk organik dan penambahan media tanam. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui interaksi penggunaan pupuk guano kelelawar dan penggunaan media tanam serta mengetahui kombinasi taraf perlakuan guano dan jenis media tanam yang berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman mentimun varietas Saturnus. Penelitian bertempat di Lahan Kampus II UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung pada bulan Mei hingga Juli 2022. Metode yang digunakan ialah Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan 2 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan pertama yaitu Pupuk Guano = 0 t ha-1 (g0); 15 t ha-1 (g1); 30 t ha-1 (g2); dan 45 t ha-1 (g3). Perlakuan kedua yaitu Media Tanam = tanah (m0); tanah+cocopeat (m1); dan tanah+arang sekam (m2). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan pupuk guano kelelawar 30 t ha-1 serta media tanam tanah+arang sekam mampu mempengaruhi tinggi dan jumlah daun tanaman metimun. Fruit production on cucumber plants often fluctuates, this is not balanced with the increasing demand for fruit along with the increase in population every year. These problems are related to the obstacles in cucumber cultivation activities, including the use of planting media and nutrients that have not been able to meet the needs of the plant so fruit production is not optimal. The decline in the quality of agricultural land, especially in the topsoil, can affect the physical and chemical properties of the soil. The decline in soil quality in cultivation activities requires improvements in the cultivation aspect, namely the addition of organic matter such as the use of organic fertilizers and the addition of planting media. The purpose of this study was to determine the interaction of the use of bat guano fertilizer and planting media to determine the combination of the level guano treatment and the type of growing media that affected the growth and yield of the Cucumber. The research took place on Campus II of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung from May to July 2022. The method used was a randomized block design with 2 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment one is Guano Fertilizer = 0 t ha-1 (g0); 15 t ha-1 (g1); 30 t ha-1 (g2); and 45 t ha-1 (g3). The treatment two is Planting Media = soil (m0); soil+cocopeat (m1); and soil + husk charcoal (m2). The results showed that the use of bat guano fertilizer 30 t ha-1 and soil + husk charcoal planting media and was able to affect the height and number of leaves of cucumber plants.
