Abstract

Abstrak Permasalahan mengenai standar kecantikan dikalangan mahasiswi sering kali berdampak pada kecepercayaan diri. Studi awal yang dilakukan peneliti membuktikan permasalah tersebut, yakni sebanyak 50% mahasiswi UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung menggunakan make up karena merasa kurangnya percaya diri. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh citra diri terhadap kepercayaan diri pada mahasiswi UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung yang menggunakan make-up. Penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan kausalitas dipilih untuk penelitian ini. Partisipan penelitian berjumlah 331 mahasiswi pengguna make-up yang berusia dari 18 sampai 25 tahun dengan teknik sampling accidental. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai t = 16.388 dan signifikansi p-value = 0.000 < 0.05, mengindikasikan terdapat pengaruh citra diri terhadap kepercayaan diri. Kontribusi citra diri kepada kepercayaan diri sebesar 44.9%, angka yang cukup besar berdampak. Abstract Problems regarding beauty standards among female students often have an impact on self-confidence. Preliminary studies conducted by researchers proved this problem, namely that as many as 50% of female students at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung used make-up because they felt less confident. This study aimed to determine the effect of self-image on self-confidence in UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung female students who use make-up. Quantitative research with a causality approach was chosen for this study. Three hundred thirty-one female students used make-up aged 18 to 25 participated in the study using accidental sampling techniques. The results showed that the value of t = 16.388 and a significance p-value of 0.000 <0.05 indicates that self-image affects self-confidence. The contribution of self-image to self-confidence is 44.9%, which has quite an impact.
