Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the factors that cause early marriage in Bantaeng Regency and a juridical analysis of the implementation of Law No. 1, in 1974 related to marriage. The existence of this article in marriage is to create a happy and eternal family or household based on the Unity of the One. This study used analytical descriptive method in describing and objectively describing the results of study with data collected through observation, interviews and other supporting data obtained in research in several Religious Affairs Office (KUA) in Bantaeng Regency. The results of these studies found several factors causing early marriage, namely; parental factors, children's own will caused by youth social factor. economic factors, heritage and cultural factors, and misinterpretation factors in religion. Then the results of the study concluded that underage marriages including the exploitation of children with some of these factors have deprived children of their rights throughout the action is not based on applicable rule and laws. Therefore, the related government institutions both regional Religious Affairs Offices (KUA) and related institutions including the community must be able to play an active role and cooperation in socializing the negative effects of underage marriages as well as the existence of Law No. 1 in 1974 should be able to be socialized and implemented to Bantaeng Regency community equally.
