Abstract

This study discusses the problems of teaching Arabic due to a lack of interest and low learning outcomes, it makes learning in the classroom passive, low enthusiasm, and less effective. Teachers must be creative and innovative in using teaching aids by utilizing technological developments. To overcome this problem the teacher must use suitable learning media, one of which is YouTube so that it can increase interest and learning outcomes for students. This study aims to determine students' interests and learning outcomes before and after using YouTube media and to find out the increase in student interest and learning outcomes after using YouTube media in class XI at SMK Karya Bhakti Bandung. The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with pre-tests and post-tests. The data collection techniques used in this study were carried out by means of observation, interviews, tests, questionnaires and documentation. The results of this study are that the interest through the questionnaire before using the YouTube video media shows an average yield value of 50%, and the learning outcomes before using the YouTube media in class XI at SMK Karya Bhakti Bandung shows an average yield value of 48.8. After using YouTube media, the results of interest increased to 63.2% and in learning outcomes there was an increase in the average value to 86.2. The use of youtube-based Arabic language learning media has the effect of increasing the interest and learning outcomes of experimental class students as evidenced by the average score of the experimental class being 0.50 or 50%.
