Abstract

The title of this research is Moral Values in Roland Emmerich's Film. The Patriot and the Relationship of Social Conditions in America in the 18th Century. Movies are forms of media that can be used to educate the public and increase their reading comprehension. The movie is one of the media that has a significant impact on the dissemination of information and the transmission of messages to readers or the general public. This study is also divided into two problems: 1) What are moral messages contained in “The Patriot” movie? 2) How moral message described in “The Patriot” movie? The film "The Patriot" serves as the primary data source, with additional data coming from literature on moral subjects, particularly the detrimental effects of the industrial revolution. Respect, responsibility, justice, tolerance, wisdom, assisting each other, compassion, cooperation, courage, and confidence are examples of moral values in the film "The Patriot." The goal of this research is to see how moral principles in the movie compare to those in the 18th century. This study also adopts a qualitative approach to acquire subjective evaluations by utilizing data sources, data collection techniques, data analysis techniques, as well as time and location. The goal of this study is to discover the relationship between Moral Value in the film The Patriot and social conditions in America during the 18th century, such as social class, freedom, urbanization, slavery, and revolution.
