Abstract

ENGLISH: The level of Dating Violence (DV) in Indonesia has been increasing over the years. Dating violence does not occur on its own; there are underlying factors contributing to it. The aim of this research is to understand the influence of adult attachment style and conflict resolution on the tendency of dating violence among young adults. The subjects in this study are 171 female victims of dating violence aged between 20 - 30 years, selected using purposive sampling technique. This research is a quantitative causality study, using dummy coding regression analysis technique. The results of this study indicate that adult attachment style and conflict resolution together have a significant impact on the occurrence of dating violence among young adults. However, when tested separately, only conflict resolution is found to influence the occurrence of dating violence among young adults. More specifically, conflict engagement and compliance in conflict resolution influence the occurrence of dating violence. INDONESIA: Tingkat Kekerasan Dalam Pacaran (KDP) di Indonesia semakin meningkat dari tahun ke tahun. Kekerasan dalam pacaran tidak akan terjadi dengan sendirinya, tentu terdapat faktor – faktor yang melatarbelakanginya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh antara adult attachment style dan resolusi konflik terhadap kecenderungan terjadinya kekerasan dalam pacaran pada dewasa awal. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 171 perempuan korban kekerasan dalam pacaran yang berusia 20 – 30 tahun, dengan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif kausalitas, dengan menggunakan teknik analisis regresi dummy coding. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa adult attachment style dan resolusi konflik secara bersama-sama berpengaruh signifikan terhadap terjadinya kekerasan dalam pacaran. Namun, ketika diuji secara terpisah, ditemukan hanya resolusi konflik yang berpengaruh terhadap terjadinya kekerasan dalam pacaran pada dewasa awal. Secara lebih spesifik, resolusi konflik dengan conflict engangement dan compliance mempengaruhi terjadinya kekerasan dalam pacaran.
