Abstract
This research aimed to analyze impoliteness strategies and function of impoliteness strategies found in the YouTube comment section of Rishi Sunak about the National Health Service on Sky News YouTube Channel. In answering those two research questions, this research used the impoliteness strategies theory by Culpeper (1996) and the functions of impoliteness theory by Culpeper (2011). Moreover, this research utilized a qualitative method and pragmatic approach as it required descriptive explanation to answer the research questions. Based on the results of this research, from 54 data found, there were 58 impoliteness strategies found as there are 4 data that had more than one strategy. There were 4 occurrences of bald on record impoliteness strategies, 19 occurences positive impoliteness strategies, 34 occurences of negative impoliteness strategies, 1 occurrence of sarcasm or mock politeness strategy. Then, for the function of impoliteness strategies, there were 38 occurences of affective impoliteness, 8 occurences of coercive impoliteness, and 8 occurrences of entertaining impoliteness.
