Abstract

ENGLISH : A sentence is an expression that has a complete thought or idea, both in writing and orally. Sentences always develop based on the times, each era will produce new words that can be analyzed which sometimes produce different results depending on the placement of the words. Therefore, the writer feels interested and needs to do research on this topic with the following questions: 1. What are the types of sentences based on the tenses in Dr. Zakir Naik's statement regarding the facts of the corona virus? 2. How are the sentences described in the tree diagram found in Dr. Zakir Naik's statement regarding the facts of Corona Virus? This thesis uses a qualitative descriptive method. The steps in taking and collecting data are watching videos, writing scripts, then identifying sentence types and describing them in the form of a tree diagram. The theory to analyze sentence types is Halliday's theory (1976) and to describe the tree diagram the theory used is Noam Chomsky's theory (2002). Based on the data analysis, the findings showed that of the 30 data, based on the tenses, there were present (22 data) and past (8 data). Meawhile based on the tree diagram, there were Intensive (19 data), Monotransitive (7 data), Intransitive (3 data), and Ditransitive (1 data). From the findings, this research can be concluded that Dr. Zakir Naik used the present sentence a lot because he answered questions according to the current situation. He used the past tense when explaining history and using hadith. Based on tree diagram, Dr. zakir Naik used a lot of intensive sentences also showe common truth, that was why Dr. Zakir Naik used a lot of intensive sentences compared to the others. INDONESIA : Kalimat adalah ungkapan yang memiliki suatu gagasan atau ide yang utuh, baik secara tertulis maupun lisan. Kalimat selalu berkembang berdasarkan perkembangan zaman, setiap zaman akan menghasilkan kata-kata baru yang dapat dianalisis yang terkadang menghasilkan hasil yang berbeda tergantung penempatan kata tersebut. Oleh karena itu, peneliti merasa tertarik dan perlu melakukan penelitian tentang topik ini dengan pertanyaan sebagai berikut: 1. Apa saja jenis kalimat berdasarkan tenses dalam pernyataan Dr Zakir Naik terkait fakta virus corona? 2. Bagaimana penjelasan kalimat pada diagram pohon yang terdapat pada pernyataan Dr. Zakir Naik terkait fakta Virus Corona? Skripsi ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Langkah-langkah dalam mengambil dan mengumpulkan data adalah menonton video, menulis script, kemudian mengidentifikasi tipe kalimat dan menggambarkannya dalam bentuk diagram pohon. Teori untuk menganalisis type kalimat adalah teori Halliday (1976) dan untuk menggambarkan diagram pohon teori yang dipakai adalah theori Noam Chomsky (2002). Berdasarkan analisis data, temuan menunjukkan bahwa dari 30 data berdasarkan tensis ada present (22 data) dan past (8 data). berdasarkan objeknya ada kalimat intensif (19 data), monotransitif (7 data), intransitif (3 data), dan transitif (1 data). Dari temuan analisis data tersebut, hasil penelitiannya dapat disimpulkan bahwa Dr. Zakir Naik banyak menggunakan kalimat present karena menjawab pertanyaan sesuai dengan situasi saat ini. Dia menggunakan bentuk lampau ketika menjelaskan sejarah dan menggunakan hadits. Berdasarkan diagram pohon, Dr. zakir Naik menggunakan banyak kalimat intensif untuk menunjukkan kebenaran umum, itulah sebabnya Dr. Zakir Naik menggunakan banyak kalimat intensif dibandingkan yang lain.
