Abstract
Adjacency-pair and implicature are elements encompassed in the field of pragmatics aim to ensure that the speaker's intentions and goals are effectively conveyed, preventing misunderstandings or ambiguities in the conversation. In this research, the researcher utilized the data from "73 Questions with Zendaya: Vogue" as the primary object. This analysis aimed to identify the types of adjacency pairs, the types of implicatures, and the implicit meanings. The research identified different forms of George Yule implicature, including conventional and conversational implicature. Those study analysis uses the qualitative descriptive method to find out the data. The result shows that the most frequently occurring data were in the preferred question-answer adjacency pairs, 34 data, and the dispreferred type is question-refusal, 3 data. The result of implicature was found to be particularized conversational implicature is 30 data. The most cooperative principle of the maxim that appeared in data is the observance maxim of relevance. Also, the non-observance maxim discovers 2 data of the flouting maxim of quantity. Based on the findings of this research, the speakers in the interview demonstrated a direct understanding of implicit meaning and promoted effective conversation.
