Abstract

ENGLISH: Sociolinguistics is a study that learn the relation between social and linguistic. Therefore, the topic of this research are the types of code mixing found in the judging sessions of Indonesia’s Next Top Model Cycle 2 program and the difference in the use of code mixing between male and female judges of Indonesia’s Next Top Model Cycle 2 program. Qualitative methods used as the research method of this research and the data we analyzed with the theory of Pieter Muysken for the first topic, Robin Lakoff and Jennifer Coates for the second topic. 20 individual judging episodes of Indonesia’s Next Top Model Cycle 2 program were analyzed for this research. From the data analyzed, for first topic the researcher found 301 data of insertion, 57 data of alternation, and 81 data of congruent lexicalization. Meanwhile for the second topic, the researcher found 7 male data and 11 female data of empty adjectives, 2 male data and 14 female data of super polite forms, 1 male data and 11 female data of hedges, 3 male data and 3 female data of intensifiers, 0 male data and 1 female data of avoidance of swear words, 2 male data and 2 female data of skill-based compliments, and lastly 3 male data and 2 female data of interruptions. INDONESIA : Sosiolinguistik adalah ilmu yang mempelajari hubungan antara sosial dan linguistik. Oleh karena itu, topik penelitian ini adalah, Jenis campur kode yang ditemukan dalam sesi penjurian program Indonesia’s Next Top Model Cycle 2, dan perbedaan penggunaan campur kode antara juri pria dan wanita pada program Indonesia’s Next Top Model Cycle 2. Metode kualitatif digunakan sebagai metode penelitian penelitian ini dan data dianalisis menggunakan teori Pieter Muysken untuk topik pertama, Robin Lakoff dan Jennifer Coates untuk topik kedua. Data yang dianalisis dalam penelitian ini diambil dari 20 episode penjurian individu dari program Indonesia’s Next Top Model Cycle 2. Dari data yang dianalisis, untuk topik pertama peneliti menemukan 301 data penyisipan, 57 data pergantian, dan 81 data leksikalisasi kongruen. Sedangkan untuk topik kedua, peneliti menemukan 7 data laki-laki dan 11 data perempuan kata sifat kosong, 2 data laki-laki dan 14 data perempuan bentuk kesopanan, 1 data laki-laki dan 11 data perempuan pembatas, 3 data laki-laki dan 3 perempuan data pelebihan, 0 data laki-laki dan 1 perempuan data penghindaran kata makian, 2 data laki-laki dan 2 data perempuan pujian berdasarkan keterampilan, dan terakhir 3 data laki-laki dan 2 data perempuan interupsi.
