Abstract

INDONESIA : Kode etik jurnalistik sudah seharusnya menjadi pengingat agar kebebasan pers sejalan dengan etika dalam menjalankan tugas sebagai wartawan. Tindakan kriminal, salah satunya yakni kekerasan seksual masih terus terjadi hingga saat ini. Dalam pemberitaan kriminal khususnya berita kekerasan seksual menyinggung kode etik pasal 3 dan 5. Kode etik jurnalistik seharusnya sudah diterapkan dengan baik oleh para wartawan sebagai bentuk tanggung jawab. Akan tetapi, pada kenyataanya masih terdapat kode etik jurnalistik yang tidak sesuai. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan kode etik jurnalistik pasal 3 dan 5 dalam penulisan berita pada media online Detik.Com. Pendekatan yang digunakan yakni pendekatan kualitatif dengan teori pers tanggung jawab sosial. Penerapan teori ini dalam penelitian ini dapat dilihat dari kebutuhan jurnalis untuk mematuhi Kode Etik Jurnalistik ketika melaporkan berita. Seberapa jauh mereka harus mematuhi kode etik tersebut, terutama ketika memberitakan kejahatan yang melibatkan kekerasan seksual. Selain itu, dari ketepatan penggunaan kode etik dalam memberitakan kejahatan yang melibatkan kekerasan seksual, terlihat jelas bahwa mereka memiliki kewajiban untuk menjunjung tinggi norma-norma masyarakat dan hukum yang telah ditetapkan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah analisis isi dengan mengungkap isi berita kriminal tentang kekerasan seksual pada Detik.com berdasarkan penerapan kode etik dalam penulisan beritanya. Hasil penelitian memperoleh bahwa Detik.com belum sepenuhnya menerapkan kode etik jurnalistik pasal 3. Dalam penerapan kode etik jurnalistik tersebut masih ditemukan beberapa pelanggaran, kategori mencampuradukan fakta dan opini serta asas praduga tak bersalah menjadi kategori yang sering dilanggar oleh wartawan Detik.com. Sedangkan pada pasal 5, Detik com berhasil menerapkan kode etik jurnalistik tanpa adanya pelanggaran yang menyebutkan atau menyiarkan identitas anak yang menjadi pelaku atau korban kejahatan ENGLISH : The journalistic code of ethics should be a reminder that press freedom is in line with ethics in carrying out the duties of a journalist. Criminal acts, one of which is sexual violence, continue to occur today. The journalistic code of ethics should have been implemented properly by journalists as a form of responsibility. However, in reality there are still journalistic codes of ethics that are not appropriate. The purpose of this research is to find out how the application of the journalistic code of ethics articles 3 and 5 in writing news on Detik.Com online media. The approach used is a qualitative approach with the theory of social responsibility press. The application of this theory in this study can be seen from the need for journalists to comply with the Journalistic Code of Ethics when reporting news. How far they must comply with the code of ethics, especially when reporting on crimes involving sexual violence. In addition, from the accuracy of using the code of ethics in reporting crimes involving sexual violence, it is clear that they have an obligation to uphold the norms of society and the laws that have been established. The research method used is content analysis by revealing the content of criminal news about sexual violence on Detik.com based on the application of the code of ethics in writing the news. The results showed that Detik.com has not fully implemented article 3 of the journalistic code of ethics. In the application of the journalistic code of ethics, several violations are still found, the category of mixing facts and opinions and the presumption of innocence is a category that is often violated by Detik.com journalists. Meanwhile, in article 5, Detik com has successfully implemented the journalistic code of ethics without any violations that mention or broadcast the identity of children who are perpetrators or victims of crime.
