Abstract

This research focuses on finding out the kinds of the main character’s conflict and the struggle in overcoming the conflict in the novel The Fault in Our Stars. In analyzing the data, the writer uses the theory of conflict from Kenney (1966). The qualitative method is used as the method of analysis. Meanwhile the data are taken from the novel The Fault in Our Stars. Based on the findings, there are two kinds of the main character’s conflict in the novel according to Kenney’s theory. They are internal conflict and external conflict. Then, the second finding in this research which is the struggle of the main character in overcoming the conflict in the novel The Fault in Our Stars.
