Abstract

This research investigates the pre-service teachers’ experiences in teaching analytical exposition text through the ICT platform. It explores the pre-service teachers’ challenges of these teaching processes through the ICT platform during classroom sessions. This qualitative case study design was employed in this study. The data collection techniques are indirect observation and interviews. Indirect observation, consisting of a section performance, is employed to investigate pre-service teachers’ process to apply the ICT platform during teaching analytical exposition text. Additionally, the interview consists of 6 questions to gain insight into pre-service teachers’ perspectives on their teaching process. The result of this study reveals that the pre-service teachers use different ICT platforms. Pre-service teacher 1 using Quiziz platform. Then, Pre-service teacher 2 using Kahoot platform. They use game-based learning to create fun learning material and an immersive reading experience. Moreover, the research findings highlight the pre-service teachers’ challenges toward teaching process using the ICT platform, Quiziz, and Kahoot. The pre-service teachers’ also express a perspective of how to overcome the challenge and deal with that. Based on the findings, the use of ICT platforms in teaching analytical exposition text classes is vital for pre-service teachers’ to enhance their perspective on the teaching process. It is crucial for pre-service teachers’ to have adequate preparation to create smooth learning experiences and achieve teaching goals successfully. This study provides valuable insights into the types of ICT platforms utilized in teaching analytical exposition and how pre-service teachers’ perceive them, which can aid in making learning more successful and achieving desired targets.
