Abstract

ENGLISH : Communication is almost indispensable in human's daily activities. Communication is a set of speech acts that are used systematically to accomplish specific objects. Speech acts are part of pragmatic subject, which is the study of the context's meaning, in this case is the meaning of the utterance. One of a kind of communication is interview. In this modern era, everyone can find any interview in the most popular online video-sharing platform, YouTube. The aim of this research was to determine the types and functions of illocutionary acts in selected Manchester United's post-match interview videos season 2022/2023 on club’s official YouTube channel. This research used a descriptive-qualitative method with Searle's (1969) illocutionary act theory as a reference supported by Leech's (1983) illocutionary function theory. In this research, the data are taken from the dialogue among the interviewer and interviewee. From 22 videos chosen, there are 73 data obtained. The number of sentences classified as assertive act are 15 data, directive act 15 data, commissive act 14 data, expressive act 29 data, and no data for declaration act. Meanwhile for functions, there are 15 data for competitive, 26 data for convivial, 18 data for collaborative, and 14 data for conflictive. The researcher discovered that the most used type in this research is expressive act, which express the speaker’s feelings, such as praising, thanking, and congratulating. Whereas the most used function in this research is convivial function, which in line with social goals, where the speakers mostly used pleasant words. INDONESIA : Komunikasi hampir tidak dapat dipisahkan dalam aktivitas manusia sehari-hari. Komunikasi adalah serangkaian tindak tutur yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan tertentu. Tindak tutur menjadi bagian dari subjek pragmatik, yang merupakan studi tentang makna konteks, dalam hal ini makna sebuah tuturan. Salah satu jenis komunikasi adalah wawancara. Di era modern, semua orang dapat menemukan wawancara apa pun di platform berbagi video online terpopuler, YouTube. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tipe-tipe dan fungsi-fungsi ilokusi dalam video wawancara post-match Manchester United musim 2022/2023 di kanal YouTube resmi klub. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif-kualitatif dengan teori ilokusi oleh Searle (1979) sebagai acuan didukung dengan teori fungsi ilokusi oleh Leech (1983). Dalam penelitian ini, data diambil dari dialog antara pewawancara dan orang yang diwawancarai. Dari 22 video yang dipilih, diperoleh 73 data. Jumlah kalimat yang termasuk pada assertive act ada 15 data, directive act 15 data, commissive act 14 data, expressive act 29 data, dan tidak ditemukan data untuk declaration act. Sedangkan untuk fungsi, terdapat 15 data competitive, 26 data convivial, 18 data collaborative, dan 14 data conflictive. Peneliti menemukan bahwa tipe yang paling banyak digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah expressive act, yang mengungkapkan perasaan pembicara, seperti memuji, berterima kasih, dan mengucapkan selamat atas pertandingan atau para pemain. Sedangkan fungsi yang paling banyak digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah fungsi ramah tamah yang sejalan dengan tujuan sosial, dimana penuturnya banyak menggunakan kata-kata yang menyenangkan.
