Abstract

ENGLISH : This movie was chosen due to its relevance with the current issue about how other religions see Islam. Most of the times Islam are labeled as a very strict and narrow-minded religion which results many terrorists. This movie was made to disprove those perspectives. To see how this movie disproves those issues, it can be seen by analyzing the intrinsic elements along with the extrinsic elements. This research focused on genetic structuralism, narrative analysis which includes religious pluralism, and norms and values which occurred in the movie of Conquest 1453 (Battle of the Empire). Those elements were analyzed by using the theory from Luice Goldman about genetic structuralism and Tzevan Todorov about narrative analysis which include religious pluralism and the norms and values. The method used in this study is qualitative research. There were 147 data found in this research but only 75 were included. The first finding was genetic structuralism with 34 data was found, 30 data of narrative analysis, 4 data of religious pluralism, and 7 data of norms and values. The result showed that the data of genetic structuralism was frequently found because it contained more detailed information about the movie. For the narrative analysis, the history was served through the plot of the story in the movie. This movie also contained religious pluralism aspect about how to respect the variety of beliefs. Also, the norms and values which can be applied in social life. The leadership role model of Al-Fatih became the key to the welfare and peace of his community. Leadership characteristics of the characters can be a topic discussion which can be analyzed by future researcher, using the same theory by Luice Godlman and Tzevan Todorov. INDONESIA : Film ini dipilih karena relevansinya dengan isu yang sedang berkembang saat ini tentang bagaimana agama lain memandang Islam. Seringkali Islam dicap sebagai agama yang keras, berpikiran sempit serta menghasilkan banyak teroris. Film ini dibuat untuk membantah isu-isu tersebut. Untuk melihat bagaimana film ini membantah isu-isu tersebut, dapat dilihat dengan menganalisis unsur intrinsik dan ekstrinsiknya. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada strukturalisme genetik, analisis naratif yang mencakup pluralisme agama, serta norma dan nilai yang terdapat dalam film Conquest 1453 (Battle of the Empire). Unsur-unsur tersebut dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori dari Luice Goldman mengenai strukturalisme genetik dan Tzevan Todorov mengenai analisis naratif yang meliputi pluralisme agama dan norma dan nilai. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Terdapat 147 data yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini, namun hanya 75 data yang dimasukkan. Temuan pertama adalah strukturalisme genetik dengan 34 data yang ditemukan, 30 data analisis naratif, 4 data pluralisme agama, dan 7 data norma dan nilai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa data strukturalisme genetik lebih banyak ditemukan karena memuat lebih rinci mengenai film tersebut. Pada data analisis naratif kita bisa tahu bagaimana kisah dalam film tersebut yang dimunculkan oleh alur yang terkandung dalam film. Film ini juga memuat mengenai aspek pluralisme agama tentang bagaimana sikap untuk menghargai setiap perbedaan keyakinan, serta mengandung norma dan nilai-nilai kehidupan yang dapat kita terapkan dalam aspek bermasyarakat. Suri tauladan kempemimpinan yang dimunculkan oleh tokoh Muhammad Al-Fatih menjadi tonggak kesejahteraan dan kedamaian bagi masyarakatnya. Kepemimpinan dapat menjadi topik yang bisa dianalisis oleh peneliti selanjutnya dengan menggunakan teori yang sama dari Luice Godlman dan Tzevan Todorov.
