Abstract
Simon Sinek is an influencer and ethnographer figure who has the expertise required to spotlight on the science of motivation. He actively shares his knowledge on various social media. One of them is Twitter. His tweets frequently obtain various reactions in the form of replies from males or females. Interestingly, several twitter users do not obey the observance-maxims. This can be known by the existence of flouting maxim on replies of Sinek’s tweets. Moreover, the types and strategies of flouting the maxims are different either males or females. This research focuses on identifying types, strategies, and comparisons of flouting maxims between males and females on the replies of selected Sinek’s Tweets. Meanwhile, the used method is qualitative with a content analysis approach. There are many replies shows flouting the maxims existence. After doing filterization against the replies, the researcher observed 49 replies from the 289 replies provided. In which, all types of flouting maxims occur with different strategies. Moreover, this research has found that although males and females have the same tendency to flout all types of flouting maxims. Each gender has a tendency to pick a different flouting maxim strategy.
