Abstract

Essentially, every student needs the capacity to write; thus, the presence of teachers is necessary to provide guidance and facilitate the development of students' writing proficiency. Teachers have a crucial influence in the advancement of students writing skills in this scenario. One effective method to assist kids in improving their writing skills is to offer them supportive feedback. This study employs qualitative research methodology, specifically utilizing a case study design. The researcher employs observation and interviews as instruments to gather data. A random selection was made of one teacher and six second-grade students from Al-Islam High School to serve as participants in the study. The author selected students from the second year of high school as participants because it aligned with the research topic, as these students had already received instruction in writing. The research findings indicate a consensus among teachers and students regarding the significance of feedback in English lessons, particularly in writing classes. The feedback provided by professors to their students is rather straightforward, consisting of favourable remarks without delving into excessive detail. Hence, the teacher recommended delivering criticism in subsequent instances.
