Abstract

The murder case of Brigadier Norfiansyah Joshua Hutabarat is a case that has attracted the attention of many people because it involves large government agencies. This case occurred at the official police residence occupied by Inspector General Ferdy Sambo. This incident caused discussion among the public so that it could influence the image of the government agency concerned. Based on this phenomenon, the media will compete to report on the murder case of Brigadier Norfiansyah Joshua Hutabarat, including the online media Cnnindonesia.com and Detik.com. The aim of this research is to find out how the online media Cnnindonesia.com and Detik.com frame news of the murder case of Brigadier Norfiansyah Joshua Hutabarat using 4 elements from the framing analysis model of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki, namely syntactic structure, script structure, thematic structure and rhetorical structure. This research uses a constructivist paradigm with a qualitative approach and the framing analysis method modeled by Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki. The object studied in this research is the news of the murder case of Brigadier Norfiansyah Joshua Hutabarat on the online media Cnnindonesia.com and Detik.com, July 2022 edition. The results of this research are: 1) Syntactic structure shows that Cnnindonesia.com places more emphasis on testimonial statements, while Detik.com places more emphasis on police statements. 2) Script structure shows that Cnnindonesia.com and Detik.com apply the 5W+1H pattern. 3) Thematic structure shows that Cnnindonesia.com prefers varied themes, while Detik.com only emphasizes 2 themes. 4) Rhetorical structure shows that Cnnindonesia.com and Detik.com framed the murder case of Brigadier Norfiansyah Joshua Hutabarat as a shooting incident caused by alleged harassment by Brigadier J against Ferdy Sambo's wife.
