Abstract

A new development in the world of telecommunications is the presence of Wireless Power Charging (WPC) technology. A WPC system requires an oscillator to resonate its electromagnetic waves. In this Final Project research, an oscillator is designed that can work in the ISM band exactly at a frequency of 13,56 MHz with a common collector amplifier circuit. In the design stage, circuit simulation is carried out by tuning several components such as capacitors and resistors. The selection of transistor components is also analyzed to see which type of transistor is better in producing the output. The fabrication process produces two oscillator modules that use two types of capacitors, namely ceramic and mylar capacitors. The performance of the crystal oscillator using ceramic capacitors produces a signal with a strength of 10 dBm and a peak amplitude of 3.16V, while the crystal oscillator using mylar capacitors produces a signal with a strength of -2 dBm and a peak amplitude of 2.22V at a frequency of 13,56 MHz. These results show that crystal oscillators using ceramic capacitors produce better performance than crystal oscillators using mylar capacitors.
