Abstract

ENGLISH : This research examines the adventure aspects presented in the popular movie "Mad Max: Fury Road" directed by George Miller and released in 2015. The film demonstrates a hero who succeeds in dangerous missions without much dialogue, effectively conveys the intended message while advancing the story. Therefore, the researcher presents three inquiries: 1.) How are the aspects of adventure formula by Saricks represented in the film Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) by George Miller? 2.) How does the main character build the adventure story in the film Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) by George Miller? 3.) How does the setting impact the characters and the plot in the film Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) by George Miller?. To achieve these results, this study identifies the aspects of adventure that build the film's story by using the main formula theory by Sarick (2009) and the supporting formula theory by Cawelti (1976). To identify the main character in building the storyline of this research using the theory of Petrie and Boggs (2012). The research method in this study is qualitative method. The researcher used dialog and character scenes as data to get results. From the results of the study, the researcher found data on 53 aspects of the adventure formula which are included in the categories of pacing, storyline, frame or setting, tone and mood, style and language, and characterization. The researcher also found data as many as 19 characterizations of male heroes who build storylines with strong physical characteristics and dare to perform dangerous actions successfully. The setting in Mad Max: Fury Road explores the complex layers of relevance in the wasteland, highlighting the current stateof consciousness and the dominant socio political system. The conclusion of the film Mad Max: Fury Road can be understood that the plot of the adventure is very simple but gives a tense impression and the action of a hero will always survive to complete the mission. INDONESIA : Penelitian ini meneliti aspek petualangan yang disajikan dalam film populer "Mad Max: Fury Road" yang disutradarai oleh George Miller dan dirilis pada tahun 2015. Film ini menunjukkan seorang pahlawan yang berhasil dalam misi berbahaya tanpa banyak dialog, secara efektif menyampaikan pesan yang dimaksudkan sambil memajukan cerita. Oleh karena itu, peneliti mengajukan tiga pertanyaan: 1.) Bagaimana aspek-aspek formula petualangan oleh Saricks direpresentasikan dalam film Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) karya George Miller? 2.) Bagaimana karakter utama membangun cerita petualangan dalam film Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) karya George Miller? 3.) Bagaimana latar mempengaruhi karakter dan alur dalam film Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) karya George Miller? Untuk mencapai hasil tersebut, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi aspek-aspek petualangan yang membangun cerita film tersebut dengan menggunakan teori formula utama oleh Sarick (2009) dan teori formula pendukung oleh Cawelti (1976). Untuk mengidentifikasi karakter utama dalam membangun alur cerita penelitian ini menggunakan teori dari Petrie dan Boggs (2012). Metode penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Peneliti menggunakan dialog dan adegan karakter sebagai data untuk mendapatkan hasil. Dari hasil penelitian, peneliti menemukan data sebanyak 53 aspek formula petualangan yang termasuk dalam kategori pacing, alur cerita, frame atau latar, nada dan suasana, gaya dan bahasa, dan penokohan. Peneliti juga menemukan data sebanyak 19 penokohan pahlawan laki-laki yang membangun alur cerita dengan karakteristik fisik yang kuat dan berani melakukan aksi-aksi berbahaya dengan sukses. Latar dalam film Mad Max: Fury Road mengeksplorasi lapisan relevansi yang kompleks di gurun pasir, menyoroti kondisi kesadaran saat ini dan sistem sosial politik yang dominan. Kesimpulan dari film Mad Max: Fury Road dapat dipahami bahwa alur petualangannya sangat sederhana namun memberikan kesan yang menegangkan dan aksi seorang pahlawan akan selalu bertahan untuk menyelesaikan misinya.
