Abstract
Language plays an essential role in connecting words into sentences. Talking about aspects of language means talking about linguistics. Syntax is a branch of linguistics or grammar that studies the structure of sentences as a statement of ideas. In syntactic structure, complements are used to expand the meaning of a phrase by adding details or clarifying the action or situation described by the main verb. This research aims to find out the type of complement and how the structure is depicted using a tree diagram. The object of study is the English translation by Sahih International of the Qur'an Surah Yusuf. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. Based on the results of the research analysis, the writer found 65 complement data. The writer identifies and categorizes the data into three types of complement, namely subject complement, object complement, and sentence complement. There are 57 data included in the subject complement, 6 data included in the object complement, and 2 data included in the sentence complement.
