Abstract

Abstrak Lolos uji kesehatan merupakan salah satu syarat dapat dilepas liarnya primata dari tempat rehabilitasi. Infeksi endoparasit pada primata merupakan salah satu penyebab utama menurunnya kesehatan primata. Untuk itu dilakukan penelitian eksplorasi endoparasit yang umum ditemukan pada feses primata. Pada penelitian ini sampel diambil dari feses Owa Jawa (Hylobates moloch) di PRPJ The Aspinall Foundation, Kabupaten Bandung Jawa Barat. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat keberadaan endoparasit pada feses Owa Jawa serta faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi kehadiran endoparasit tersebut. Penelitian dilakukan dengan memeriksa feses lima Owa Jawa dengan sruktur umur yang berbeda yaitu dua Owa Jawa dewasa, dua Owa Jawa remaja dan satu Owa Jawa Pra remaja dengan tiga kali pengulangan. Pemeriksaan parasit dilakukan dengan menggunakan dua metode yaitu metode natif dan metode sedimentasi. Hasil menunjukan Owa Jawa pra remaja dari The Aspinall Foundation positif ( + ) terinfeksi telur T.trichunaria yang diperiksa melalui metode natif. Sedangkan pada uji sedimentasi tidak ditemukan keberadaan telur maupun nematoda endoparasit. Faktor yang mempengaruhi kehadiran dari endoparasit diantaranya sanitas kandang, pakan yang dikonsumsi, kondisi lingkungan, Wadah pakan, dan cuaca dan iklim. Endoparasit infection in primates is one of the major causes of declining primate health. To this end, an exploratory study of endoparasit Trichuris trichunaria and Strongyloides sp is commonly found in primate faeces. In this study the sample was taken from the feces of Javan gibbon (Hylobates moloch) in Javan Gibbon Center The Aspinall Foundation, Bandung Regency West Java. The aim of this research is to know the existence of endoparasit on Javanese feces and any factors influencing the presence of endoparasites. The study was conducted by examining the feces of five Java Owa with different age structures ie two adult Javan gibbon, two teenage Javanese Javan and one Javanese pre-teen Javanese with three repetitions. Parasitic examination was done by using two methods namely native method and sedimentation method. The results showed that pre-teen Javanese pregendas from The Aspinall Foundation were positive (+) infected with T. trichunaria eggs examined by native methods. While on the sedimentation test found no presence of eggs or parasites Strongyloides sp. Factors that affect the presence of endoparasites include sanitary cages, food consumed, the environment, feed containers, and weather and climate.
