Abstract

INDONESIA: Sumpah merupakan pernyataan kebenaran yang dinyatakan dengan mengambil nama Allah sebagai saksi. Namun, dalam berbagai kasus, sumpah sering disalahgunakan sebagai alat untuk mendapatkan keuntungan pribadi atau menghindari hukuman, yang dikenal sebagai sumpah palsu. Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis fenomena sumpah palsu dalam perspektif hadis. Melalui metode analisis kualitatif penelitian ini menelusuri berbagai hadis yang berhubungan dengan sumpah, khususnya yang berkaitan dengan sumpah palsu, untuk memahami pandangan Islam terhadap praktik ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sumpah palsu merupakan tindakan yang dilarang dan mendapat kecaman keras dalam hadis. Beberapa hadis menekankan bahaya dan dosa besar dari sumpah palsu, serta konsekuensi dunia dan akhirat bagi pelakunya. Selain itu, hadis juga memberikan petunjuk tentang bagaimana sumpah seharusnya diambil dan kondisi-kondisi di mana sumpah dapat dianggap sah. Kesimpulannya, sumpah palsu bukan hanya bertentangan dengan nilai-nilai moral dan etika, tetapi juga merupakan pelanggaran serius dalam ajaran Islam. Diharapkan dengan pemahaman yang mendalam terhadap hadis-hadis yang berkaitan dengan sumpah palsu, masyarakat dapat lebih sadar akan pentingnya kejujuran dan integritas, serta menghindari praktik sumpah palsu dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. ENGLISH: An oath is a statement of truth declared by taking the name of God as a witness. However, in various cases, oaths are often misused as a tool to gain personal gain or avoid punishment, known as perjury. This thesis aims to analyze the phenomenon of perjury in the perspective of hadith. Through the qualitative method of analysis the study explores various hadith-reports related to oaths, especially those related to perjury, to understand the Islamic view on this practice. The results show that perjury is prohibited and strongly condemned in the hadith. Several traditions emphasize the danger and grave sin of perjury as well as the worldly and afterlife consequences for the perpetrators. In addition, the traditions also provide instructions on how oaths should be taken and the conditions under which they can be considered valid. In conclusion, perjury is not only against moral and ethical values but also a serious offense in Islamic teachings. It is hoped that with a deeper understanding of the traditions related to perjury, people can be more aware of the importance of honesty and integrity and avoid the practice of perjury in their daily lives.
