Abstract

ENGLISH: Social media now seems to be a second life for adolescents to socialize. Their social life satisfaction in cyberspace and the factors that can influence it are important to explore. This study aims to determine the role of social support as a mediator in the effect of self-disclosure on online social well-being. A quantitative causality design was used in this study and 403 adolescents aged 15-24 years old who are active users of social media X were involved as research subjects based on convenience sampling technique. The data were analyzed using Hayes' mediation process analysis. The results of this study show that there is a significant direct effect (0.00 < 0.05) of self-disclosure on online social well-being with an effect value of 0.0823 and social support is proven to play a mediator role (0.00 < 0.05) with an effect value of 0.0595. Mediation that occurs is complementary partial mediation so that self-disclosure can positively affect online social well-being with or without the mediator of social support.
