Abstract

INDONESIA: Microgreen merupakan tanaman muda yang dipanen 7-21 hari ketika daun kotiledon terbuka secara sempurna. Microgreen memerlukan tempat untuk tumbuh sebagai pondasi yang dapat menyerap air atau nutrisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan, kandungan klorofil dan karotenoid serta korelasi antar parameter pada microgreen melon (Cucumis melo L.). Penelian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan satu faktor media tanam yaitu, kontrol (tanah), cocopeat, zeolit dan arang sekam. Kemudian diamati pertumbuhan seperti persentase perkecambahan, tinggi tanaman, panjang akar primer, jumlah akar lateral, luas kotiledon, berat segar, berat kering, klorofil serta korelasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan media tanam berpengaruh nyata pada panjang akar primer, berat basah dan berat kering. Berdasarkan rerata hasil pengukuran terhadap parameter pertumbuhan, media tanam zeolit menunjukan hasil terbaik pada panjang akar primer (8,66 cm), berat basah (19,16 g) dan berat kering (0,7 g), media tanam tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kandungan klorofil a, kandungan klorofil b, kandungan klorofil total, dan karotenoid. Berdasarkan rerata hasil pengukuran media zeolit menunjukan hasil terbaik pada kandungan klorofil a (34,83 mg/l), kandungan klorofil b (20,76 mg/l), kandungan klorofil total (55,55 mg/l) dan karotenoid (581,71 mg/l) dan hasil analisis korelasi yang paling tinggi menunjukan persentase perkecambahan berkorelasi sangat kuat dengan jumlah akar lateral, tinggi tanaman berkorelasi sangat kuat dengan berat segar dan karotenoid, panjang akar primer berkorelasi sangat kuat dengan kandungan klorofil b, jumlah akar lateral berkorelasi kuat dengan kandungan klorofil total, berat segar berkorelasi kuat dengan karotenoid, dan berat kering berkorelasi sangat kuat klorofil total. ENGLISH: Microgreens are young plants that are harvested 7-21 days when the cotyledon leaves fully open. Microgreens need a place to grow as a foundation that can absorb water or nutrients. This research aims to determine the effect of planting media on growth, chlorophyll and carotenoid content as well as the correlation between parameters in microgreen melon (Cucumis melo L.). This research is an experimental study using a completely randomized design (CRD) with one planting media factor, namely, control (soil), cocopeat, zeolite and husk charcoal. Then growth was observed such as germination percentage, plant height, primary root length, number of lateral roots, cotyledon area, fresh weight, dry weight, chlorophyll and correlation. The research results showed that the planting medium had a significant effect on primary root length, wet weight and dry weight. Based on the average results of measurements of growth parameters, zeolite planting media showed the best results in primary root length (8.66 cm), wet weight (19.16 g) and dry weight (0.7 g), planting media had no significant effect on the content of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b content, total chlorophyll content, and carotenoids. Based on the average measurement results, the zeolite media showed the best results for chlorophyll a content (34.83 mg/l), chlorophyll b content (20.76 mg/l), total chlorophyll content (55.55 mg/l) and carotenoids (581 mg/l). 71 mg/l) and the results of the highest correlation analysis showed that the germination percentage was very strongly correlated with the number of lateral roots, plant height was very strongly correlated with fresh weight and carotenoids, primary root length was very strongly correlated with chlorophyll b content, the number of lateral roots was strongly correlated with total chlorophyll content, fresh weight was strongly correlated with carotenoids, and dry weight was very strongly correlated with total chlorophyll.
