Abstract

Soil degradation is a decline in the function of the soil which becomes an important issue to the soil condition for agricultural land. Many factors affect the decline of soil function from planting habits, planted commodities and soil treatment. Lack of attention from the management of the land and the lack of knowledge of farmers in order to protect the productivity of the land. Protection or conservation of land is required by evaluating land suitability. In research conducted in District Cimencrang West Java observations and interviews of farmers and a simple study of soil samples of physical observation of texture observation by feeling and observation of the structure. Chemical observation is to test the soil pH. Keywords : conservation , degradation , management , observation, treatment
