Abstract

The need for electricity in Indonesia always increases every year, and electricity has become a daily necessity for the community. However, due to the complexity of the electrical system from the generator to the consumer, it is possible that there will be disruptions that cause the power supply to be cut off from the source to the consumer. Therefore, power outages can occur unexpectedly. Based on this incident, a backup power source is needed to replace the main power source. In the transition from the main power source to the backup power source, a device called ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) is needed. This device is able to transfer the power source automatically and can avoid operational errors. For ease of operation of the ATS, a system was created to be able to monitor and control the ATS online. So the ATS device was designed using ESP8266 based on the Internet of Things. The device is equipped with an online monitoring and control system via the Telegram application. On the AC electricity sensor, the voltage reading accuracy value is 98.22% and the current reading is 90.82%. While on the DC electricity reading, the voltage reading accuracy value is 96.14% and the current reading is 91.11%. In the data logger, data recording for the sensor is recorded in the Google Sheet application. This tool has a delay when responding to commands with an average delay of 12.38 seconds.
