Abstract
In this research, the writer analyzes Rachael Lippincott in Five Feet Apart. the background of this research appears based in Rachael Lippincott writing models shows the presentation of woman character in her writing. Women are often used as topics in literary works by both male and female authors. However, in this regard, only women can fully describe women. This research aims to describe women's writing which includes biology, language, psychology and culture in the novel Five Feet Apart. Next, this research has two problem formulations regarding how Rachael Lippincott depicts female characters, as well as the independence of the main female character ithe novel.To assist in analyzing this research, researchers used several supporting theories such as gynocritics, character and characterization, and Woman Independent. Plus, this research focuses on qualitative methods. As a conclusion of the research as follows. First, Rachael Lippincott presents female characters (independent, sociable, disciplined, and has extraordinary affection) with four models of female writing. Then, the independence of the female character who has a strong spirit of responsibility, promise, self-confidence, and is always a person who can hide her pain. This can be seen from how the main character behaves and is responsible towards himself and others.
