Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the creativity of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers in the utilization of Canva as media for English language learning among the students of SMA Al Qur'an Nurhasanat. The primary objective of this research is to comprehend the experiences, perceptions, and challenges faced by both teachers and students in the integration of the Canva application into the senior high school curriculum. The researchers used qualitative descriptive design to achieve the research objectives. This research was conducted at SMA Al Qur’an Nurhasanat Karawang, Indonesia. The study included three female EFL teachers’ in 2024-2025 academic year. Researchers conducted interviews to collect the participants' deep experiences. The methodology was employed in the present study to elucidate the reasons behind teachers' decisions to utilize Canva, the methods they employed to assess its effectiveness within their lessons, the advantages they perceived, the challenges encountered, and any recommendations they might offer for enhancing the application of canvas in educational settings. Moreover, there are several advantages that EFL Teachers’ creativity in utilizing Canva as media for English language learning such as easy-to-use, variety of learning media templates, EFL students' creativity, saving time creating teaching media, and creating fun multi-modal learning media. And the problems of EFL teachers’ utilize Canva as media in English learning are need a stable internet signal and have a strong internet connection. This study provides results that all of EFL teachers’ creativity created four different kinds of Canva design in English learning media. The EFL teachers’ creativity utilize Canva for English learning media include PowerPoint, flashcards, infographic, and poster for social media content. The instruments employed in this study included interviews and observations to assess teachers' perceptions regarding the use of the canvas as media in English language instruction. Overall, the study concludes that Canva is an effective and innovative tool for improving EFL instruction, helping teachers deliver engaging lessons while nurturing students' creativity and language skills
