Abstract

Innovative mathematics learning is very important in improving the ability to understand concepts. However, in the practice of mathematics learning, there are still many students who are less able to generate new ideas in solving problems, tend to be fixated on one procedure taught, and show low curiosity. One alternative to overcome this problem is by implementing E-Modules through a Constructivist approach. This study aims to: Learning design, learning implementation, differences in achievement of mathematical concept understanding abilities between students who receive learning using e-modules through a constructivist approach and students who receive conventional learning in terms of Prior Mathematical Knowledge (PAM), and differences in increasing mathematical concept understanding abilities between students who receive learning using E Modules through a constructivist approach and students who receive conventional learning. This study was conducted at one of the high schools in Bandung district in two classes using a quasi-experimental method through a test instrument in the form of a test of students' mathematical concept understanding abilities and non test instruments in the form of observation sheets for the implementation of teacher and student activities and documentation. The results of the study are as follows: The learning design is very suitable for use, the constructivist approach can be implemented in the very good category, there is a difference in the achievement of conceptual understanding abilities in students who apply e-modules through a constructivist approach with students who use conventional learning based on the PAM level, and there is a difference in the increase in conceptual understanding abilities in students who apply e-modules through a constructivist approach with students who use conventional learning models..
