Abstract
The integration of digital technology in English language teaching is increasingly important in the 21st century, especially in assessing students' listening skills. Wordwall, as a web-based interactive platform, offers various opportunities for the teacher to design more engaging and practical listening assessments. This study aims to explore teacher's perspectives and challenges in using Wordwall as a digital assessment tool for listening skills in grade XI of senior high school. This study uses a qualitative case study approach at MAN 2 Sumedang, West Java, Indonesia, with one participant, an English teacher, the only teacher who uses Wordwall in listening assessment. Data were collected through interviews and observations to gain an indepth understanding of this phenomenon. Furthermore, the findings of this study reveal three dimensions of teacher's perspectives, namely affective (positive attitudes toward student motivation and engagement), conative or behavioral (teacher's practices in designing and managing assessments), and cognitive (understanding of Wordwall's functions and pedagogical relevance). Although teacher's perspectives tend to be positive, this study also found challenges, including technical challenges, pedagogical challenges, learner-related challenges, and classroom and infrastructure challenges. Thus, this study confirms that Wordwall provides significant benefits in improving listening skills assessment, but the teacher still face various practical and pedagogical challenges in its implementation. Theoretically, these findings broaden our understanding of digital assessment practices in English listening learning, while practically, they provide recommendations for the teacher and institutions to optimize the use of Wordwall in assessment.
