This study aims to investigate the teacher’s strategies and instructional media used to enhance young learners’ English vocabulary mastery. Employing a descriptive qualitative case study, the data were collected through one classroom observation and two interview sessions with an English teacher of first-grade students. The data were analyzed to identify the implementation of teaching strategies and the pedagogical reasoning underlying their use. The findings reveal that the teacher created an engaging learning environment by implementing fun learning strategies such as repetition chants, guessing games, Total Physical Response (TPR), singing with gestures, and storytelling. The instructional media primarily included whiteboard drawings, worksheets (LKS), and audio media in the form of songs to support vocabulary comprehension and retention. Although peer feedback activities were not implemented due to students’ developmental readiness, the integration of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic elements effectively supported vocabulary learning. This study highlights the importance of aligning teaching strategies and instructional media with young learners’ cognitive and developmental characteristics to foster meaningful and enjoyable English vocabulary acquisition.
