Abstract

INDONESIA: Lingkung Seni Wayang Golek Giri Harja merupakan salah satu dari jutaan kesenian di Indonesia yang terus memberikan perubahan dalam setiap generasinya, dalam rentang waktu 1998 hingga 2024, sebuah periode penting yang mencerminkan dinamika pelestarian dan adaptasi kesenian tradisional Sunda di tengah arus modernisasi dan globalisasi. Fokus kajian ini mencakup tiga aspek utama: perkembangan Wayang Golek Giri Harja dari masa keemasan di televisi nasional hingga era digital, keberlanjutan eksistensi seni pertunjukan di tengah krisis termasuk wafatnya tokoh sentral Abah Asep Sunandar Sunarya dan tantangan pandemi COVID-19 serta implementasi kebijakan pemerintah melalui PERDA No. 5 Tahun 2021 tentang Penyelenggaraan Pemajuan Kebudayaan Daerah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah dengan empat tahapan yaitu Heuristik, Kritik, interpretasi dan Historiografi dengan menggunakan pendekatan Sosial Humaniora. Sehingga dapat memahami konteks perkembangan dan eksistensi dari Lingkung Seni Wayang Golek Giri Harja kurun waktu 1998-2024 Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa meskipun budaya Barat yang marak masuk ke tanah air tidak menjadikan penghalang bagi Lingkung Seni Wayang Golek Giri Harja untuk mempertahankan eksistensinya. Dengan munculnya inovasi yang disesuaikan mengikuti perkembangan zaman, pengemasan pagelaran dengan pemanfaatan teknologi serta adanya regenerasi dalang yang hadir di kalangan Generasi Milenial dan Generasi Z memberikan warna baru bagi dunia Pedalangan di Indonesia, hal ini juga menjadi salah satu faktor ketertarikan masyarakat untuk kembali mencintai budaya tradisional dengan suguhan pagelaran yang tetap memperhatikan nilai moral yang biasa disampaikan pada pagelaran wayang dengan mengadaptasi perkembangan zaman. ENGLISH: The Art Environment of Wayang Golek Giri Harja is one of the millions of arts in Indonesia that continues to change in each generation, in the period from 1998 to 2024, an important period that reflects the dynamics of the preservation and adaptation of traditional Sundanese arts amidst the currents of modernization and globalization. The focus of this study covers three main aspects: the development of Wayang Golek Giri Harja from its golden age on national television to the digital era, the sustainability of the existence of performing arts amidst the crisis including the death of the central figure Abah Asep Sunandar Sunarya and the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and the implementation of government policies through PERDA No. 5 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Regional Cultural Advancement. This study uses a historical research method with four stages, namely Heuristics, Criticism, Interpretation and Historiography using a Social Humanities approach. So that we can understand the context of the development and existence of the Giri Harja Golek Puppet Arts Circle in the period 1998-2024 The results of this study indicate that although Western culture has entered the country, it does not become a barrier for the Giri Harja Golek Puppet Arts Circle to maintain its existence. With the emergence of innovations that are adjusted to follow the times, the packaging of performances with the use of technology and the regeneration of puppeteers who are present among the Millennial Generation and Generation Z provide a new color for the world of puppetry in Indonesia, this is also one of the factors of public interest in returning to love traditional culture with performances that still pay attention to moral values that are usually conveyed in puppet performances by adapting to the times.
