Abstract

INDONESIA: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih ditemukannya bias gender dalam pemberitaan media daring arus utama yang kerap menempatkan perempuan sebagai objek serta membatasi perannya dalam ruang publik. Oleh karena itu, kehadiran media daring alternatif menjadi penting sebagai ruang diskursif yang memiliki potensi untuk menghadirkan narasi yang lebih adil dan berpihak pada kelompok marjinal, termasuk perempuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana posisi perempuan sebagai subjek dan objek dalam teks media BandungBergerak.id, serta mengidentifikasi bentuk rekognisi atau misrekognisi terhadap perempuan dalam teks tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma kritis dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis wacana kritis model Sara Mills yang berfokus pada posisi subjek dan objek dalam teks. Sementara itu, teori yang digunakan adalah feminisme kritis yang dikembangkan oleh Nancy Fraser pada tahun 1980, khususnya konsep rekognisi. Unit analisis berupa sepuluh artikel dari rubrik Berita, Cerita, dan Opini pada BandungBergerak.id periode 2024-2025. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media daring alternatif BandungBergerak.id cenderung memposisikan perempuan sebagai subjek aktif yang memiliki suara dan peran dalam peristiwa sosial, bukan hanya sebagai objek pemberitaan. Hal tersebut memperlihatkan adanya rekognisi terhadap perempuan. Namun, masih terdapat keterbatasan dalam penggambaran perempuan yang cenderung berfokus pada isu ketidakadilan sosial dan penderitaan yang berangkat dari langgengnya budaya patriarki dalam beberapa teks. Dengan demikian, BandungBergerak.id sebagai media daring alternatif menunjukkan keberpihakan terhadap kesetaraan gender, meskipun masih memerlukan pengembangan dalam memperluas penggambaran terhadap perempuan. Upaya ini penting agar perempuan tidak hanya hadir dalam narasi tertentu, melainkan juga sebagai subjek dalam berbagai konteks kehidupan sosial yang lebih luas. ENGLISH: This study is motivated by the continued presence of gender bias in mainstream online media reporting, which often positions women as objects and limits their roles in the public sphere. Therefore, the presence of alternative online media becomes important as a discursive space that has the potential to present more just narratives and to support marginalized groups, including women. This study aims to analyze how women are positioned as subjects and objects in the media texts of BandungBergerak.id, as well as to identify forms of recognition or misrecognition of women in those texts. This study uses a critical paradigm with a descriptive qualitative approach. The method used is Sara Mills’ critical discourse analysis, which focuses on the position of subjects and objects in the text. Meanwhile, the theory used is critical feminism developed by Nancy Fraser in the 1980s, particularly the concept of recognition. The unit of analysis consists of ten articles from the News, Story, and Opinion sections on BandungBergerak.id for the 2024–2025 period. The results of the study show that the alternative online media BandungBergerak.id tends to position women as active subjects who have voices and roles in social events, not only as objects of reporting. This shows the presence of recognition toward women. However, there are still limitations in the depiction of women, which tends to focus on issues of social injustice and suffering that stem from the persistence of patriarchal culture in several texts. Thus, BandungBergerak.id as an alternative online media shows alignment with gender equality, although it still requires development in expanding the depiction of women. This effort is important so that women are not only present in certain narratives, but also as subjects in broader contexts of social life.
