Abstract

Good communication is a communication that can be understood by both directions. In order to avoid misunderstanding between the speaker and listener, both must know the context of what is being discussed. In addition language function become one of the important for communication can run smoothly. This study discusses the social context and language functions utterance with slang words in Baby Driver movie script. This study has two focuses first to analyze the social context, and the second to analyze the function of language used in the movie script. Out of 256 slang words data, only 25 slang words are analyzed because of their. To analyze social context of utterance with slang words the data based on word formation theory. From the analysis, it can be concluded that the social context uses S.P.E.A.K.I.N.G theory byHymes(1974)are classify the data based on word formation theory. The researcher found if the context of speech is so complex, it looks in those characters conversations. In analyzing the function of language the researcher uses the theory by Jakobson(1960), found a rhetorical element and emotive element. ABSTRAK Nira Yuliana. 1145030130. LiliAwaludin, M.A. Komunikasi yang baik adalah komunikasi yang dapat di mengerti oleh kedua arah. Agar tidak terjadi kesalah pahaman antara pembicara dan pendengar, keduanya harus mengetahui konteks apa yang sedang dibicarakan. Selain itu fungsi bahasa menjadi salah satu yang penting agar komunikasi dapat berjalan dengan lancar. Penelitian ini membahas tentang konteks sosial dan fungsi bahasa dengan ujaran bahasa gaul dalam naskah film Baby Driver. Penelitian ini memiliki dua fokus utama, pertama untuk menganalisa konteks sosial, dan yang kedua untuk menganalisa fungsi bahasa yang digunakan dalam naskah film tersebut. Dari 256 data bahasa gaul, hanya 25 data yang bisa dianalisis karena frekuensi seringnya muncul. Dari analisis konteks sosial peneliti menggunakan teori S.P.E.A.K.I.N.G oleh Hymes (1974) diklasifikasikan berdasarkan teori word formation. Dalam konteks sosial peneliti menemukan jika konteks dalam pembicaraan sangat kompleks, itu bisa terlihat dari peristiwa dan percakapan tokoh. Dalam menganalisis fungsi bahasa peneliti menggunakan teori Jakobson (1960), ditemukan fungsi retorikal dan fungsi emotif.
