Abstract

INDONESIA : Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pemberitaan mengenai tindakan represi aparat kepolisian dalam rangkaian aksi demonstrasi Agustus 2025 yang memperoleh perhatian luas masyarakat. Sebagai media berbasis platform digital audiovisual, YouTube tidak hanya menjadi sarana penyebaran informasi, tetapi juga ruang bagi media untuk mengonstruksi suatu peristiwa melalui pembingkaian pemberitaan. Salah satu media yang secara intens memberitakan isu tersebut adalah Kompas TV melalui program Dipo Investigasi, sehingga menarik untuk dikaji bagaimana tindakan represi aparat kepolisian dibingkai dalam pemberitaannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pembingkaian pemberitaan tindakan represi aparat kepolisian dalam aksi demonstrasi Agustus 2025 pada tiga video Dipo Investigasi di kanal YouTube Kompas TV. Melalui analisis tersebut, penelitian ini mengungkap bagaimana Kompas TV mengonstruksi realitas tindakan represi aparat kepolisian dalam pemberitaannya. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan model analisis framing Robert M. Entman (1993), yang menjelaskan bahwa framing merupakan proses menyeleksi dan menonjolkan aspek tertentu dari realitas sehingga membentuk cara suatu peristiwa dipahami. Model tersebut terdiri atas empat elemen, yaitu define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgements, dan suggest remedies, yang digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi bagaimana media membingkai suatu peristiwa. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode analisis isi kualitatif. Data primer berupa tiga video Dipo Investigasi yang diunggah pada kanal YouTube Kompas TV periode September 2025. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi non-partisipan dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis secara deduktif dengan menggunakan empat elemen model framing Robert M. Entman sebagai kategori analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kompas TV membingkai tindakan represi aparat kepolisian sebagai persoalan yang berkembang dari dampak kemanusiaan hingga polemik penegakan hukum pascademonstrasi. Pemberitaan dibangun dengan menghadirkan berbagai perspektif serta menempatkan penyebab peristiwa berdasarkan tingkat kepastian informasi yang tersedia. Kompas TV juga menilai tindakan aparat berdasarkan batas penggunaan kewenangan, penghormatan terhadap hak asasi manusia, dan perlindungan hak warga negara. Adapun penyelesaian diarahkan pada pertanggungjawaban aparat, pengusutan secara tuntas, pembenahan mekanisme penanganan demonstrasi, serta penguatan investigasi dan pengawasan. ENGLISH : This study is motivated by news coverage of repressive actions by police officers during the series of demonstrations in August 2025, which attracted widespread public attention. As an audiovisual digital platform, YouTube serves not only as a means of disseminating information but also as a space in which media organizations construct events through news framing. One media outlet that extensively covered this issue was Kompas TV through its Dipo Investigasi program, making it relevant to examine how repressive actions by police officers were framed in its news coverage. This study aims to analyze the framing of news coverage on repressive actions by police officers during the August 2025 demonstrations in three Dipo Investigasi videos on the Kompas TV YouTube channel. Through this analysis, the study reveals how Kompas TV constructs the reality of repressive actions by police officers in its news coverage. The analysis employs Robert M. Entman’s (1993) framing analysis model, which explains framing as the process of selecting and emphasizing certain aspects of reality in ways that shape how an event is understood. The model consists of four elements, namely define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgements, and suggest remedies, which are used to identify how the media frame an event. This study employs a constructivist paradigm with a qualitative approach and a qualitative content analysis method. The primary data consist of three Dipo Investigasi videos uploaded to the Kompas TV YouTube channel in September 2025. The data were collected through non-participant observation and documentation, and were subsequently analyzed deductively by using the four elements of Robert M. Entman’s framing model as analytical categories. The findings indicate that Kompas TV framed repressive actions by police officers as an issue that developed from humanitarian impacts to controversies surrounding post-demonstration law enforcement. The news coverage was constructed by presenting various perspectives and attributing the causes of events according to the level of certainty of the available information. Kompas TV also evaluated police actions based on the limits of the exercise of authority, respect for human rights, and the protection of citizens’ rights. The proposed solutions emphasized police accountability, thorough investigations, improvements to demonstration management mechanisms, as well as stronger investigation and oversight.
