Abstract

INDONESIA: Tayangan Xpose Uncensored Trans 7 edisi 13 Oktober 2025 yang mengangkat budaya pesantren melalui sudut pandang tertentu sehingga memunculkan kontroversi di kalangan masyarakat pesantren. Tayangan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa media televisi tidak hanya menyampaikan informasi, tetapi juga mengonstruksi realitas melalui proses framing yang dapat memengaruhi persepsi publik terhadap pesantren sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam dan entitas budaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana budaya pesantren didefinisikan sebagai masalah (define problems), bagaimana penyebab masalah digambarkan (diagnose causes), bagaimana penilaian moral dibangun (make moral judgment), serta bagaimana rekomendasi penyelesaian ditampilkan (treatment recommendation) dalam tayangan Xpose Uncensored Trans7 tanggal 13 Oktober 2025. Kerangka konseptual penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma konstruksionis yang berpandangan bahwa realitas media merupakan hasil konstruksi sosial. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan teori framing Robert N. Entman yang meliputi empat elemen, yaitu define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgment, dan treatment recommendation. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis framing, sumber data primer dalam penelitian ini adalah tayangan program Xpose Uncensored Trans7 tanggal 13 Oktober 2025. sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh melalui dokumentasi, studi pustaka, jurnal ilmiah, dan sumber literatur yang relevan, teknik analisis data dilakukan melalui pengumpulan data, transkripsi tayangan, identifikasi unit analisis, analisis framing Robert N.Entman, interpretasi data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. kesimpulan yang telah diambil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa tayangan Xpose Uncensored membingkai budaya pesantren dengan menonjolkan aspek aspek kontroversial sehingga membentuk representasi tertentu yang mengurangi kompleksitas realitas kehidupan pesantren.framing yang dibangun media berpengaruh terhadap cara khalayak memahami budaya pesantren dan menghasilkan representasi yang merupakan konstruksi media, bukan cerminan realitas secara utuh. ENGLISH: The October 13, 2025, broadcast of Trans7's Xpose Uncensored, highlighted Islamic boarding school culture from a particular perspective, sparking controversy within the Islamic boarding school community. The broadcast demonstrated that television media not only conveys information but also constructs reality through a framing process that can influence public perception of Islamic boarding schools as Islamic educational institutions and cultural entities. This study aims to determine how Islamic boarding school culture is defined as a problem (define problem), how the cause of the problem is explained (diagnose cause), how moral judgments are constructed (make moral judgment), and how recommendations for resolution are presented (treatment recommendation) in the October 13, 2025 broadcast of Trans7's Xpose Uncensored. This research conceptual framework utilizes a constructionist paradigm, which holds that media reality is a social construct. The analysis was conducted using Robert N. Entman's framing theory, which encompasses four elements: defining the problem, diagnosing the cause, making moral judgments, and recommending treatment. The research method used is a qualitative approach with framing analysis. The primary data source in this study is the broadcast of the Xpose Uncensored program on Trans7 on October 13, 2025. While secondary data was obtained through documentation, library research, scientific journals, and relevant literature sources. Data analysis techniques were carried out through data collection, broadcast transcription, collection of analysis units, Robert N. Entman's framing, data interpretation, and conclusions. The conclusions drawn from this study indicate that the Xpose Uncensored broadcast frames Islamic boarding school culture by emphasizing strange aspects, thus forming a certain representation that reduces the complexity of the reality of Islamic boarding school life. The framing constructed by the media influences how the audience understands Islamic boarding school culture and produces a representation that is a media construction, not a complete reflection of reality.
